The newly named GLIB (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Alliance) of Case Western Reserve University, invites students and friends from college communities in the Cleveland area to a dance in celebration of National Coming Out Day, Friday, October 11th, from 9:00 p.m. 1:00a.m.
The dance will be held at Carlton Commons on the South Campus of CWRU. Admission is $3.00, for those who are not CWRU students. A DJ will be spinning discs; refreshments will be served. For more information, call 791-5356.

"Journey Without Maps: Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay Spirituality," a weekend retreat, will be held Nov. 15th-17th at Camp Templed Hills, a United Church of Christ facility ten miles south of Mansfield. The retreat is sponsored by the Ohio Chapter of the United Church Coalition for Lesbian-Gay Concerns [UCCL/GC].
The event is open to all, regardless of sexual or spiritual orientation. The weekend's activities include worship, Bible study, discussions and other events, as well as, time for rest and relaxation, hiking, and games.
The Rev. Diana Vezmar-Bailey, founding pastor of Spirit of the Rivers Ecumenical Community Church in Columbus, will facilitate.

Black Gay and Lesbian Leadership Conference planning committee has announced that the 1992 conference will take place February 12th-17th at the Clarion Hotel Oakland International in Oakland, Calif.
"This is an ideal location for people flying in from around the country," said Anthony Farmer, co-chair of the planning committee. "It's near Oakland International Airport, with excellent public transportation into downtown Oakland and San Francisco. Not that people will be bored at the conference we'll have plenty for them to do!"

New Direction, a new magazine for gay and lesbian Mormons, their relatives and friends is now available. The first issue includes an essay on homosexuality by a Mormon bishop. It is a powerful and insightful article by a man who has taken the time and effort to learn and understand what being gay or lesbian is all about.

"Making It Perfectly Queer," the second national interdisciplinary graduate student conference on Lesbian and Gay Studies will be held at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, April 2nd-4th.

The Writers Block Publishing Co., a marketing-publishing firm, has opened. The company will produce books (fiction and nonfiction), cassettes, and instructional, as well as, entertainment (not pornographic) videos for the lesbian and gay community.
The company is soliciting scripts and manuscripts in consideration for future projects.

Watch out for burnout. Volunteers overworked, overwhelmed, and underappreciated are major sources of burnout and
not-for-profit ship jumping. A hands-on workshop is set to provide keys and solid technical assistance to help you retire that volunteer casualty list. Sonic Disturbance returns--The Sonic Disturbance Festival of Sound, including new music, sound art and poetry, features sound sculptures at Spaces Gallery from October 18th to 20th with a free opening reception on Friday, October 18th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Also, performances take place at the Cleveland Public Theater from October 17th to 26th, Thursday through Saturday at 9:00 p.m. and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $7 for the evening shows $5 for the Sunday performance. A discussion period begins one hour prior to the show. Featured performers include Alvin Lucier, Margaret Leng Tan and Jocelyn Chang.
Call for volunteers--Point of Life, a new non-profit organization created to serve the needs of the minority community within the larger lesbian and gay community, needs volunteers. The group specializes in HIV and AIDS service work. No talent is too small as Point of Life organizes and builds to make its proposed East side half-way house for people with AIDS and the HIV-positive a reality.
